The nursing shortage remains a significant health care problem which has relied on international nurses to help alleviate. Unfortunately, the backlog of green card petitions will worsen the shortage of nurses in hospitals, as well as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospice care; a perfect storm for managing the healthcare of our vulnerable populations.
